This year I was very fortunate to have been able to connect with and learn about the National CASA program. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocate and is a special volunteer who speaks on behalf of a child who is experiencing family separation or an investigation due to abuse or neglect. The CASA program helps lessen the trauma for children that are going through the steps of reuniting with their family members or being placed in a healthy environment. They ensure that children are treated with upmost respect and care and provide centers that are welcoming and warm for them to receive services such as counseling and/or visitation time with parents.
One of the biggest needs this organization has is blankets. Each child that visits CASA receives a new, warm blanket. In the Fort Bend area alone, the CASA center serves about 400 children a month.
How can you help?
My mission is to find 100 blankets to donate- no matter how long it takes. I ask for your help in any way you can give. I can host a drive in your office or school on behalf of you and your business or I can pick up from your home. I can also deliver the blankets to CASA on your behalf.
CONNECT with me so I can connect YOU to making a difference in a FORT BEND child's life.

Travis High School is located in Fort Bend ISD and serves about 3200 students, the largest student body in Fort Bend. The staff is comprised of about 200 faculty members. It is located in the rapidly growing community of Harvest Green and Aliana in Richmond, TX. Currently, there are no plans for an additional high school nearby, but an additional elementary school will be built half a mile away within the next year. As a former employee of THS I can attest to the hard work, dedication, and pride of the staff. As a life-long learner and educator, my passion is to stay involved in schools that NEED their community's support. THS is one that needs much support at the moment due to the rapidly growing housing communities in the immediate area.
How can you help?
My mission is to makeover the teacher lounge at THS. To help give the staff a place for connection and a reminder that the 200+ businesses within the 3-mile radius wholly support them. I ask for your financial support, as a business owner and community member. Let us serve our teachers and staff at THS all year round. All supporters will be recognized in the lounge and in our community.
December "drop-in for a change" date: Friday, December 8
